Alert criteria

Criteria determining when the operators of nuclear facilities should alert the disaster control authority (alert criteria) have been developed in order to ensure that these authorities are notified at an early stage. They include general, emission and ambient-pollution criteria, as well as plant-specific technical criteria. The ambient-pollution criteria and the derived emission criteria are based on the intervention reference levels for disaster control.
